Caplin Homes can turn your ideas into architectural drawings through the services of our partners John Cotterill Sustainable Architecture.

We can handle your planning application for you, apply for building control consent and provide a set of supporting drawings for a modest fixed fee with no further commitment.

All drawings are produced using advanced CAD software which communicates directly with manufacture programming. Computer generated visualisations can be provided from a variety of viewpoints to give a realistic impression of the house before making final commitments.

[sup]Construction & Management[/sup]

Because of our unique method of providing highly insulated external surfaces, we always build the structure of our houses ourselves including the windows and doors and install the heating and ventilating systems. This is to ensure that the critical levels of air tightness and insulation are carried out with the necessary care and attention to detail, so we can guarantee the energy performance of the building. We can work with self-builders for the remaining parts of the build, or with professional builders under a cooperation agreement.

Our energy strategy requires the very highest levels of insulation and air tightness, so we offer only one option – the best. U = 0.14 w/m2/o K for the walls and 0.11 w/m2/o K for the roof.

[sup]Final Stages[/sup]

Although the main structure of the house will always be timber frame, for the external finish you can choose between timber cladding, brick skin, through coloured polymer rendering or even stone in those areas of the country where this is a requirement.

Above all we want to make the process of building your house enjoyable, free of risk and nasty surprises. We will encourage you to take the time to choose what you want at the planning stage so as to ensure that everything will fit together smoothly. We will discourage you from making last minute changes during the building process!
